Accessibility

Our commitment
Table Menu is committed to providing a digital experience that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to meet or exceed the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, O.Reg 191/11, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Standard
Our target conformance level is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Both the marketing site (tablemenu.app) and the restaurant ordering application (*.tablemenu.app) are designed and tested against this standard. We are also working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA as part of our ongoing accessibility programme.
What we do
- Build with semantic HTML so assistive technologies can interpret content correctly.
- Maintain color contrast ratios that meet WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
- Provide keyboard-accessible interactive elements, including menus, cart, and checkout.
- Label form inputs programmatically so screen readers can announce them.
- Announce dynamic state changes (cart updates, order confirmations) through aria-live regions.
- Provide a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
- Allow browser zoom and text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Include alt text for meaningful images and hide purely decorative images from assistive technology.
- Respect the prefers-reduced-motion system preference in animations.
Known limitations
We continuously audit our platform for accessibility issues. At the time of this statement, we are aware of and are actively addressing the following items as part of our pre-launch remediation:
- Some third-party embedded content (wallet pass previews, payment iframes) inherits accessibility characteristics from the provider (Stripe, Clover, Apple, Google).
- AR 3D food preview (Enterprise plan) is a visual experience. A text description of each featured dish is always available as an alternative.
Feedback and alternate formats
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on any Table Menu property, or if you need information in an accessible format, please contact us. We will work with you to provide the information you need, acknowledge your feedback within 2 business days, and follow up with a resolution plan.
Email: accessibility@tablemenu.app
Subject line: Accessibility feedback
Under the AODA, we will provide alternate formats of information on request, in consultation with you, at a cost that is no more than the regular cost charged to other persons.
Ongoing work
We review our accessibility posture on an ongoing basis using automated tooling (including axe-core) alongside manual screen-reader and keyboard-only checks. Findings are triaged and published updates appear here as they are resolved.
Regulatory escalation
If we do not adequately address your accessibility feedback, you may escalate to the Government of Ontario Accessibility Directorate at ontario.ca/accessibility, or by calling the ServiceOntario accessibility information line at 1-866-515-2025 (TTY 1-800-268-7095).
